English owner of Segway dies after driving Segway off of a cliff & into river

Heseldonjpg English authorities say that they have discovered the body of James Heselden, 62, at the bottom of a cliff in the River Wharfe along with his Segway.

His body was discovered after an apparent accident on his estate where Heselden drove his Segway off a cliff and into the river below.

Heselden, a British millionaire, purchased Segway in January of this year.

“It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Jimi Heselden has died in a tragic accident near his home in West Yorkshire,” Hesco Bastion, the company that Meselden founded wrote in a statement. “Our thoughts go out to his family and many friends, who have asked for privacy at this time.”

The British multimillionaire and philanthropist made his money when he invented the container unit and founded Hesco in 1990. He was still the Chairman of the Board of Hesco at the time of his death.

The local coroner has not yet established the exact cause of death but West Yorkshire police are treating the case as an accident with the two wheeled self righting scooter and and do not consider it suspicious.

According to the New York Times:

"Mr. Heselden leaves behind his wife, Julie, five children and eight grandchildren, a Hesco spokeswoman said."
