You could certainly call the Star Wars themed Volkswagen Darth Vader Passat Super Bowl ad a home run.
Even before the very first snap of the football in Texas the VW ad has already been viewed 12.5 million times in just four days.
Why is the Passat ad such a run-away YouTube hit?
It combines a little tike Darth Vader with movie Star Wars nostalgia, and of course an old golden retriever. Perhaps best of all the little Darth Vadar struggles to get the force to work for him until he’s given a little helping hand by his dad the Volkswagen Passat.
