Can you believe that the Honda Civic is now in its ninth generation?

At the New York Auto Show Honda rolled out five new versions of the ironic 2012 Honda Civic, and these include the high-mileage HF, the new hybrid, the natural gas model, and of course the hot hatch Honda Civi SI.

Check out the video below to see all the Civics together at last on one stage.

To call the new Civic’s styling revolutionary would be just silly. In fact, buyers might have a hard time telling the current version of the Civic apart from the 2012 version.

As one of Honda’s (and the segment’s) best selling cars, the Japanese manufacturer took the safe route and decided to keep styling changes on the very conservative side.

The fastest Civic, the SI, gets a new engine and a six speed transmission.

Replacing the old 197-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 139 pound-feet of torque is now a bigger 2.4-liter power-plant that pumps out 200 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. The bigger engine also gets better economy going from 29 mpg on the highway to 31 mpg.

Honda also rolled out the new Civic HF which gets 41 mpg with a 140-horsepower 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a five speed transmission.
