Baddest Golf GTI ever coming to America

Gold35

It’s the baddest Volkswagen Golf GTI ever built and it’s called the Golf Edition 35.

BTW: If you are curious why it’s called the Golf GTI Edition 35 the answer is straightforward. VW is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the introduction of the original Golf GTI way back in 1976.

The new Golf GTI Edition 35 (which recently debuted in Wörthersee, Germany) comes with a more powerful engine than the GTI’s 2.0-liter turbocharged TSI. Instead of 2010 HP the Golf GTI Edition 35 power-plant gets upgraded to a front tire burning 235 HP.

Other important upgrades to the anniversary Gold GTI include:

– headlights that feature LED daytime running lights

– bespoke alloy wheels

– blacked-out headlights and taillights

– darkened rear and tailgate windows

– glossy black finish on the grille

And best of all (and according to Car and Driver) the Golf Edition 35 is now coming to America.

Expect basically the same car, but with a different name.

But if you want an even faster Golf, VW will bring the even hotter Golf R to American shores.
