Video: The new 2013 Dodge Dart revealed before the Detroit Auto Show

Surprise…the new Dodge Dart is out of the bag before its official press debut at this year’s Detroit Auto Show. BTW: The 2013 Dodge Dart is about as American as the Alfa Romeo Giulietta, upon which it is loosely based.

Chrysler has been slowly dripping out photos of the new Dart which will replace the Dodge Caliber in the brand’s C-segment line-up. But today the dam broke just a two days before the start of the the Detroit Auto show with both these photos and the video below.

Dodge’s Belvidere assembly plant will build the new Dart which will be available with several engine choices including a:

– 2.0 and 2.4-liter inline-four “Tigershark”

-a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir powerplant

The new Dart will also get three choices of transmissions with at least one engine/transmission combo getting the highly sought after 40 MPG highway rating.

And just in case you are wondering… the new 2013 Dart will directly complete with the equally European Ford Focus and of course the popular Chevy Cruze to name just a few of the new car’s direct competitors.
