2014 Subaru Forester will have a turbocharged BRZ engine option

Here is the face of the 2014 Subaru Forester!

Subaru will officially inroduce the 2014 Subaru Forester to the world at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of November. The Fast Lane Car will be on hand covering the event. The big news is: Subaru will use the 2.0-liter, horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine used in the BRZ as an optional powerplant in the 2014 Subaru Forester – and it’s turbocharged.

That’s right, that super high compression engine that sits in the BRZ will get a turbocharged boost to make 250 horsepower and 258 lbs-feet of torque in the 2014 Subaru Forester. Oh, happy days! Say Hallelujah brothers and sisters! Imagine how high that boost/power could go!The 2014 Subaru Forster has a lot to be excited for as well.  The regular 170 hp, 2.5-liter flat-four still makes 174 lb-ft of torque and it’s basically the same engine from today’s Forester. The 2014 Subaru Forester will available with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a six-speed manual transmission.

Small windows placed past the side-view mirrors add to the modern, clean updated design. The 2014 Subaru Forester grows slightly in nearly every dimension. It’s 180.9 inches long, has a wheelbase of 103.9 inches, with a 68.2 inches high and the 2014 Subaru Forester is now 70.7 inches wide.

The 2014 Subaru Forester will have more rear passenger space and additional cargo space. Subaru has only released these two photos, but we should expect an updated, modern interior with all the modern amenities including an interactive infotainment system like Toyota’s Entuneâ„¢ system.

We will keep our eye on this story as the Forester is a huge seller for Subaru and a bigger, better 2014 Subaru Forester is right up The Fast Lane Car’s ally.
