2013 Lexus GX 460 Snowy Colorado Off-Road 4WD Tech Demo Review

The 2013 Lexus GX 460 has all of the important bits and parts to make it a truly off-road worthy ride.

Not only did Toyota bless is with full-time four-wheel-drive but the big Lexus also has a lockable limited slip center differential and adjustable height control, hill decent control and even the all important body on frame construction of the Toyota 4Runner.

In fact, the Toyota 4Runner and the GX 460 share many of the same components and the same basic construction.

In this exclusive TFLcar video we decide to have a bit of wintery fun in the 2013 Lexus GX 460. We take it off-road, for a tech review, to see just how well it does when the road turns snowy, icy, rocky and very rough.

Editor’s note: Driving off road in deep snow is very exciting. It’s also one of the most dangerous types off off-roading out there as the driver has no idea what lies in wait under the powder. Even the most robust of off-road vehicles can suffer a catastrophic sharp boulder through the oil pan – or worse.

With that said, the Lexus GX 460 gave me the confidence to drive through the terrain with alacrity. Roman and I were pleased and, dare I say, extremely comfortable inside the GX 460. It’s an excellent off-road machine in any climate.
