The 2014 GMC Sierra Pickup takes center stage in Detroit debut

Here’s the 2014 GMC Sierra

The brand new 2014 GMC Sierra broke cover today in Detroit. This is a new, updated and fully reworked pickup truck. The new GMC pickup features three engine choices just like it’s Chevy brother the Silverado.

But while the both pickup offer more manly helping of boxy and square-jawed testosterone, the 2014 GMC Sierra seems to have had a double helping of morning Wheaties.

Bold and rugged certainly describe the design language of the Sierra which now features a slowly opening back lift gate that won’t slam down when you pop it open. Integrated bumper steps, a smoother aerodynamic shape and a bolder exterior design definitely lifts the overall design of the 2014 GMC Sierra.

General Motors invited The Fast Lane Car out to Detroit, MI to get a sneak peek at the 2014 GMC Sierra and the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. They opted to give the press access to both vehicles weeks before the ‘official’ debut at the North American International Auto Show (Detroit Auto Show).

This move was puzzling to us as there is a lot of free press to be had at the NAIAS. Then we were reminded of the debut of the all new Chevrolet Corvette and it all made sense.
