Your First Look At The 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Although the plan was to unveil the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee at the New York Auto show in March, that plan changed today when a blurry image of the vehicle taken in a factory appeared online. Instead of simply bemoaning the leaked shot, Jeep embraced the unlikely turn of events and released some beautiful official images of the vehicle in advance of the show.

They also confirmed that the 2014 Jeep Cherokee is officially the replacement for the Liberty, which had been the unconfirmed rumor. These shots only show the front of the car, much like the blurry spy-shot, but they give a much better look at some pretty significant design changes.

You can see that the famous Jeep grille has been crimped in the middle and pushed back a bit. There’s also a new split headlamp design. These are big changes for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and really make you wonder what other surprises Jeep has in store for the vehicle’s official reveal.

Details were sparse, but they promise best-in-class capabilities and fuel economy improvements of more than 45 percent over the outgoing Liberty. As for what lurks under the hood behind that shiny new grille, we’ll just have to wait and see.
