Niki Lauda vs. James Hunt in the biographic movie ‘Rush’

Ron Howard, one of the most successful movie directors out there, is bringing back the 1976 Formula 1 racing season and the extraordinary battle between Formula 1 aces Niki Lauda and James Hunt. ‘Rush’ follows Niki Lauda’s fiery crash (which nearly killed him) and his amazing return to F1 only a few weeks later to challenge rival James Hunt.
The rivalry between Niki Lauda and James Hunt gained worldwide, legendary status and it transcended F1 racing, spreading to all sports as something amazing. Never were two rivals so different and the courage these men possessed was rare. This is a time in F1 when the sport was far more deadly than today.
James Hunt is played by Chris Hemsworth (played Thor in Thor) and Niki Lauda is played by Daniel Brühl (played Fredrick Zoller in Inglourious Basterds). Iv’e seen some of the footage and it looks absolutely period-perfect, right down to the tires of the F1 cars.
If you’ve seen Ayrton Senna in action or the biographical movie “Senna” – “Rush” takes place a few years before Senna started racing.
