Will Turbo usurp Cars?

Turbo-Poster

Turbo is a movie about a snail who dreams of winning the Indy 500. Sure, there’s more to it, but that’s the gist. Turbo is a 3D, computer generated family film from DreamWorks.

“From the makers of Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda, Turbo is a high-velocity 3D comedy about an underdog snail who kicks into overdrive when he miraculously attains the power of super-speed. But after making fast friends with a crew of streetwise, tricked-out es-car-goes, Turbo learns that no one succeeds on their own. So he puts his heart and shell on the line to help his pals achieve their dreams, before Turbo-charging his own impossible dream: winning the Indy 500.” – – DreamWorks

TURBO

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen a bit of either of the Cars films.

They follow the adventures of a race car who strives to win the big race. Sure, there’s more to it, but that’s the gist. Disney/Pixar has done very well with the Cars film franchise and will be introducing Planes August 9, 2013. It’s the same type of world as Cars, but in the air.

Being that Cars in now Planes, only Turbo shows any promise for gear-heads with little ones.

Voice talent? Have I got voice talent for you! Ryan Reynolds stars as Turbo with Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Peña, Michelle Rodriguez, Luis Guzman, Ken Jeong, Snoop Dog, Paul Giamattti, Maya Rudolph, Richard Jenkins, and Ben Schwartz. Snoop Dog? That’s off the hizzle.

NETFLIX, INC. DREAMWORKS MOVIE STILL

Turbo will be released on July 14th 2013.

Check out this video with the FIAT 500L – a car that needs it own cartoon.

I’ll watch Turbo and report back on it. I am no movie critic, but you already knew that.
