2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee was given the “Official Winter Car of New England” award at the New England Motor Press (NEMPA) annual meeting in Cambridge, Massachusetts this week. It marks an unprecedented third time in a row that NEMPA members have given this award to the Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The NEMPA annual meeting, held at the MIT Faculty Club, recognized the Jeep Grand Cherokee for its combination of features that make it the perfect SUV for managing changeable New England roads. In an area of the country where winters start early and end late, it’s essential for those searching for an SUV to have a vehicle that suits those long, harsh winters.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee delivers through a combination of excellence in off-road capability along with exceptional on-road performance in all types of weather. Drivers can be as comfortable slogging home through two feet of snow as they are cruising down the highway on a summer family roadtrip.

Inside the vehicle there’s a level of comfort that makes this rough and ready SUV perfect for everyday driving and long commutes. It also delivers best-in-class fuel economy so it won’t break the bank when you leave the pump.

In addition to the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee receiving its award, Jeep received two additional awards at the NEMPA annual meeting. The 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee received the WheelsTV “Previously Owned Vehicle of the Year” award and Jeep Brand President and CEO Mike Manley received the NEMPA Executive of the Year award.

Manley was recognized for Jeep’s outstanding performance during his tenure with the company. Not only has Jeep experienced continually increasing sales during that time, but the Jeep Grand Cherokee has accumulated an impressive number of awards.

Chrysler also picked up one additional award for the 2013 Ram 1500 4×4 which was named Best All-Weather Pickup Truck.
