Track Week: 2013 Subaru BRZ Sport reviewed on Race Track

2013 subaru brz race track review fast lap

This is the fifth installment of the TFLcar Track Week video review series.  Track Week is where we take every day cars and put them through their paces at the High Plains Raceway in Colorado.  TFLcar team attended the annual RMDE event put on by the RMAP association, and Roman wanted to see how these cars compare to each other on the race track.  So, we mounted the cameras and the SoloDL GPS data recorder, and Roman went out in search of the best lap times.

Today we have the 2013 Subaru BRZ.  This will come as no surprise to you – the BRZ is very good on the race track.  This is a car that will forgive most driver mistakes and will build your confidence and skills over time.  It does not have a lot of power at a mile above sea level with naturally aspirated 2.0-liter boxer rated at 200 hp.  And perhaps this is a good thing for a driver who is learning a new race track or learning to race.  The low center of gravity, the great chassis, and precise steering make the BRZ a pleasure at the track.  It also sounds very good when you get above 6,000 rpm or so.

The 2013 Subaru BRZ was the 6th fastest around the track.  This was our fastest car with 200 horsepower or less.

Please enjoy this race track video review, and come back again to see the rest of the top ten.  Tomorrow’s Track Week car is the beastly 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
