Fast Take: The 2014 Chevy Impala Brings The Sexy Back To Big American Sedans

2014 Chevy Impala

The 2014 Chevy Impala takes the big, American sedan, turns it upside down, shakes out the boring bits, and sets it back down on its wheels as one sexy ride. This is not last year’s Impala. Forget that car. This is an Impala that will make you take a second look, and for good reason.

Make no mistake, this is a comfy full-size sedan, but the exterior styling is in no way the stodgy, watered down design we’ve gotten in the past. Its got an agressive front end, contoured hood and sculpted bodysides that look fantastic. The 2014 Chevy Impala takes the car’s styling from blah to bam!

As good as it looks on the outside, when you open up the doors and take a look a the interior you’ll be completely blown away. It’s fair to say that Chevy isn’t known for having the best of interiors, but the 2014 Chevy Impala could single-handedly change that reputation.

The contoured dashboard wraps around into the doors creating a true cockpit-like driving experience. Control surfaces are comfortable and they look upscale. Yes, you’ve still got plastic but the “Ew, plastic,” look and feel of prior years is gone. It looks damn good.

It’s also got little design features that make it sing and will make you feel like you’ve spent a lot more than the roughly $30,000 sticker. There’s an 8″ touchscreen that, at the touch of a button, rises up out of the dash to reveal a USB port and extra storage. It’s very James Bond and it’s a Chevy, not an Aston Martin.

Adding to the interior appeal is a thin line of chrome trim across the dash and doors. It looks great during the day, but at night it’s backlit with a gorgeous blue glow. It’s a small thing, but the small things add up making the 2014 Chevy Impala one sexy American sedan.

She considers things a bit more carefully now, but still has a weakness for fast, beautiful cars. Nicole also writes for NerdApproved and GeekMom.
