“The practicality of this car reflects my lifestyle – always on the go, and I never have to skip a beat,” said Jay Cardiello, celebrity strength and conditioning specialist and Fitness Editor-at-Large for Shape magazine. “Whether I’m at the beach and I want to hit the waves with the Boogie Board, or I want to hit the hills or mountains with the bike, or I want to jump onto the sand and hit the yoga mat, everything is there.” Click here to see a video with Jay and the Outlander Sport Summer Edition.” – – Mitsubishi Motors North America Media

I was rather hopeful that this Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Summer Edition Concept would be sportier performance-wise. Don’t get me wrong, the regular Outlander Sport is plenty slow for most; however, those who crave a hint of driving excitement won’t find it in the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Summer Edition Concept. I was hoping for a turbocharged engine or, god forbid, a manual transmission… something, anything to wake up the performance in this model.

Alas, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Summer Edition Concept is a marketing idea. There are no plans for production. There may be a special edition Outlander Sport in the future that may have a few of these nifty goodies in an option package. As for performance upgrades? Maybe the low-profile, wider rubber would enhance cornering a bit, but there’s not much else.

I hope Mitsubishi has something fun up their sleeve for real. I look forward to the upcoming Mitsubishi Mirage, but I’m hoping for something that gets my pulse pounding and so do you. Well, at least the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Summer Edition Concept looks cool.
