Hyundai released these official sketches and some information of the 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan.  This is not only the second generation of the Genesis sedan, but also the future face of Hyundai as a whole.  The company calls this design language “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0”.  It’s an odd name, but it suggests that Hyundai is taking what it learned from the first “Fluidic Sculpture” Genesis sedan and advancing it to the next level.

The most notable elements are the single piece hexagonal grill and very pronounced crease line that runs the whole length of the car.  Also notice the sleek, long, and coupe-like roof line – reminiscent of the HCD-14 Genesis Concept that Hyundai showed at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

Safety and performance of the new sedan will be improved thanks to increased body rigidity.  Another safety highlight is the seatbelt pretensioner feature which tightens the belts in dangerous situations or just before an impact.  The 2015 Genesis will come with electrically assisted power steering, available all wheel drive, electronically controlled suspension, and advanced traction control systems.

The next generation Hyundai Genesis sedan shows that the company is serious about playing in the luxury/performance sedan segment.  It’s bringing all the ingredients together to make it a strong competitor against the segment leaders from Germany.
