Football and car commercials go together like chips and salsa, pepperoni and pizza, chicken wings and hot sauce, and on and on. Naturally, we are curious what car commercials are coming for the big game of 2014. NFL Super Bowl XLVIII is scheduled for 6:30pm ET on February 2nd.
Several manufacturers already released teasers for their multi-million dollar sports next Sunday. They are the usual suspects. Volkswagen challenged their engineers to come up with a successful commercial formula. They delivered this teaser featuring Carmen Electra and VW Passat (see the video below).
Kia gets help from the Matrix and Morpheus to highlight the new 2015 Kia K900 and perhaps other vehicle.
Ben Kingsley, Mark Strong, and Tom Hiddleston are joining Jaguar and F-Type Coupe to create an non-James Bond commercial.
Audi and Sarah McKachlan are sending a message about animal and pet treatment and introduce a Doberhuahua.
Several other manufacturers are expected to make commercial appearances, including General Motors, Toyota and others. However, Ford, BMW, and Mazda are expected to sit out the big game and save the money for commercials during the Winter Olympics in Sochi (coming just six days after the Super Bowl).
