Geneva: Could Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge be the 4-Door GT-R?

2014 infiniti q50 eau rouge concept detroit video

High performance Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge was first shown at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, but the power-plant was shrouded in mystery.  Company’s president, Johan de Nysschen, hinted that the sedan would bring 500 horsepower.  Eau Rouge name refers to a famous Formula 1 corner and this performance variant has Audi’s S, BMW’s M, and Mercedes’ AMG cars straight in its crosshairs.  Infiniti has Sebastian Vettel, Formula 1 champion, providing development input.

Now, Infiniti released this teaser video clip and promises to spill the beans on the motor at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show next month.  One thing is clear from the video, it has the sweet sound of a turbo-charged powerplant.  Could it be the 3.8L twin-turbo from the Nissan GT-R?  Competition should be worried.
