Here we have a US-spec 2015 Audi A3 Cabriolet caught in the wild. The upcoming topless A3 will be Audi’s fourth convertible, along with: A5 Cabriolet, TT Roadster, and R8 Spyder.
The A3 Cabrio could come to US with two engine choices: 2.0-liter turbo with 200 hp and 258 lb-ft or a 1.8-liter turbo with 170 hp and 200 lb-ft. Of course, the S3 Cabriolet which has just been announced for Europe could also come across the pond. The S3 uses a high-strung 2.0-liter turbo TFSI motor with 300 hp and 280 lb-ft.
The A3 Cabrio uses a soft retractable top and provides seating for four. The dimensions of this convertible are similar to those of the existing VW Eos. Can the more premium A3 Cabriolet succeed where the Eos has struggled?
