Nissan Sales Up 16% Last Month Thanks To Rogue And Frontier

Nissan-Rogue-Preview

Nissan is having a good Monday as they see a sales increase of 16% last month. That jump is due in large part to the performance of it Rogue, Frontier and Altima vehicles which each saw big jumps. These latest sales figures have Nissan posting a US sales record in 11 of the last 12 months.

The Nissan Altima saw an 11% increase, the Nissan Rogue was up 73% and the Nissan Frontier blew them all away with a 112% increase last month. Overall North American volume saw cars up 8% and light trucks up 31%.

It was a rough winter for automakers with frigid weather and a series of never-ending storms plaguing much of the US and keeping people inside instead of in dealer showrooms. Nissan pulled off quite a feat with such impressive numbers. Other manufacturers will be releasing their numbers later today and it’s likely not quite so happy a Monday for everyone.

The slow traffic in showrooms had many dealers and automakers offering big incentives to get customers behind the wheel of a new car. Ford has been extending big incentives on the Ford Focus including 0% financing for 60 months and $1000 cash back deals depending on the area of the country.

Full-size pickups are also getting some huge incentives to lure people into dealer showrooms with discounts of $8,000-$9,000 depending on where you look while some Honda dealers are offering across the board savings on their vehicles. Low financing rates and cash back deals are everywhere.

Despite the scramble to make up for a rough winter, automakers still posted record transaction prices in the month of February. The industry average was $29,000 per vehicle.
