Recall: 2014 Fiat 500L is being called back over transmission

2014 fiat 500l preview

Fiat announces  a voluntary recall to update the software on its 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in the 2014 Fiat 500L.  If your four-door Fiat sometimes does not get out of park, slow to shift gears, or refuses to shift gears – then it is suffering  a problem related to this recall.  Fiat says 19,500 vehicles are affected by the recall: 18,100 in the United States and 1,400 in Canada.

Owners will be contacted and asked to bring their cars in to get this work done at the dealerships.  Fiat estimates that about 200 vehicles may need a hardware upgrade (shift module component) to go along with the new software change.

Chrysler Group is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
