It hasn’t even been a full week since GM revealed a mild facelift for the North American 2015 Chevy Cruze at the 2014 New York Auto Show.  Shanghai GM takes it a step further with the reveal of a completely redesigned “new” Cruze.  It has all-new sheet metal and a choice of two engines: 1.4L turbo or a regular 1.5L four cylinder.  An option of no fewer than three transmissions will be offered: seven-speed dual-clutch, six-speed manual, or six-speed automated manual.

TFLcar caught camouflaged Chevy Cruze prototypes going through high altitude testing that had the swept-back headlights and coupe-like roofline.  Check out this video.

The word on the street is that the new styling direction of the Chinese Cruze will make to the North American car in 2016 or a little later.  The Cruze has been a big seller in China for years with over one million units so far.  Sedans in the C-segment are most popular in the market with nearly 50% share.  These are some of the reasons why Chevrolet introduced a thorough redesign in China first.
