2015 Ford Explorer Gets Sporty Appearance Package And New Features

The 2015 Ford Explorer XLT will be hitting showrooms later this month with a new sporty appearance package as well as new features and color choices.

The new appearance package includes special exterior details like 20″ machined aluminum wheels with painted pockets, black body-side cladding and black roof rack rails. It will also get a Magnetic Metallic painted grille, mirror caps and liftgate appliqué, with an Explorer hood badge and body-color door handles.

The inside of the 2015 Ford Explorer also gets changes with leather-trimmed, heated front seats with Miko suede inserts and contrast stitching, floor mats with special badging and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Technology upgrades include Sync with MyFord Touch, two 4.2″ color LCD screens in the instrument cluster and a third 8″ color LCD touch screen in the center stack. There are also two USB ports and an SD card reader.

Across the 2015 Ford Explorer line, 18″ aluminum wheels are standard on the base model, a Class III trailer tow package is standard on the Sport, and there are three new colors of Bronze Fire Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Caribou Metallic and Magnetic Metallic.
