Lexus has high hopes for its all-new Lexus NX model in the luxury crossover segment which Lexus practically created with the introduction of the Lexus RX in the late 1990’s. The NX does not look to disappoint with very modern and sharp Lexus styling and two powertrains that aim to combine efficiency and excitement.

The NX will feature the spindle grill that has become a trademark on almost all new Lexus front ends. Also, defined side moldings shooting from the front wheel well to rear along the doors make a sporty first impression. In the rear, the crossover SUV cleans up nicely with a more simple yet modern design, featuring dual chrome exhaust outlets and razor like taillights that all seamlessly fit with the design of the rest of the vehicle.

As for powertrains, the NX crossover will offer two very competitive options. The Lexus NX 200t will feature a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that will pack a punch of 235 horsepower and comes equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission that is available in either front wheel drive or all weather drive. The second of the available engine options, featured on the NX 300h hybrid, is a 2.5 liter Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder that comes paired to a new automatic transmission with a kick-down feature that Lexus claims “offers a real driving kick.” The NX 300h is also available in either front wheel drive or all weather drive.

The Lexus NX luxury crossover will include new options such as:

  • Power lift gate
  • Power folding rear seats
  • LED headlights and taillights
  • Touch switches for dome and map lights
  • Wireless charging tray for compatible smartphones and other gadgets
  • High-resolution 7-inch screen in the center stack
  • Siri eyes free mode
  • Dynamic radar cruise control

The most exciting part of the new Lexus CUV is the NX 200t F sport. Traditionally the F sport marks the most highly optioned and most potent performance version of a Lexus model and the NX is no different. The F sport will feature an even sharper and bolder grill than the standard models and a metallic painted lower bumper and black side mirrors to match. Two different styles of 18-inch alloy wheels can be optioned to enhance exterior styling and driving performance. Another neat option for the F sport is the NuLuxe seats that come in a deep red color that, when combined with the F sport exclusive steering wheel and gear shifter, make for an explosive looking interior.
