2016 Mazda Miata [Coming Up Tonight]

2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata

For some, the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is the most eagerly anticipated vehicle of the year. For others, it’s the 2015 Ford Mustang. But there is a certain group of car enthusiasts who are really looking forward to the 2016 Mazda Miata. For those who believe that Miata is always the answer, here’s the 2016 Miata underneath a blue cover!

Teased on the official Facebook page for the 2016 Mazda Miata, Mazda posted this image of the car under cover. We’ve already seen the underpinnings and suspension bits, and we’ve also seen a teaser video that may or may not indicate the car will be turbocharged, and now we have this image that gives us a decent idea of how the car will look.

The first thing we notice is that the car doesn’t appear to be shaped all that differently from previous versions. Sure, there’ll be subtle differences, but based on this image we shouldn’t have any problem knowing that this new car is the next version in a long line of Miatas. Another thing that sticks out to us is the wheel gap. The fender flares cause the cover to wrap around them, highlighting the gap between the fenders and the wheels.

What else do we know? Not much. Feel free to point out anything you can see in the comments below. In the meantime, we look forward to global reveal on September 3rd.
