Check out this 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat we caught testing! Sure, we’ve seen the Charger Hellcat testing before; in fact, we even have a tiny bit of video of one (heavily disguised) testing at high altitude. Still, when you think about the fact that this baby makes 707 horsepower and 650 lbs-feet of torque – we get very excited to see a Dodge Charger Hellcat testing in the wild.
According to Dodge, the 707 hp, 6.2-liter HEMI V8 that 650 lb-ft of torque can rocket the Dodge Charger Hellcat to a 204 mph top speed. Dodge says it can do 3.7 seconds running 0 to 60 mph, a 11-second quarter mile (with street tires) and it will be the fastest vehicle in its class. Now, think about that – a 4,560 lbs American sedan that is THAT fast?
It’s no wonder we get giddy when we catch one testing.
By the way, for those of you who are unaware of the “official” details regarding the 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat, that 707 hp, supercharged engine is hooked up to an eight-speed automatic transmission – there is no manual transmission option. Bummer. It has six-piston Brembo front calipers and massive, 15.4-inch front rotors.
Dodge wants to get around 20 mpg highway – which would be impressive.
Pretty easy to see why we’re excited about the 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat.
