The 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5: It’s So Beautiful [Debut Gallery]

Images of the 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5  just hit the internet. We are in love. It’s retained much of it’s heritage, but it certainly has a more aggressive profile. Gone is the smiley face grille, and with the hood pulled down as much as it is, we are offered a much more muscular front end.

From the side, Mazda hasn’t messed with much, leaving it just about the same as the outgoing model.

From the rear, the oblong oval tail lights have evolved, adding some sharper lines. The dual exhaust is a nice touch. Mazda looks to have incorporated the bumper right into the rear fascia. It’s a unique look and one that may polarize folks.

It looks like it sits a little lower, as there is not as much room between fender and wheel as in the NC generation.

Mazda did not provide clear pictures of the interior, but the images that Roman was able to capture show (non flat-bottomed) multi-functional steering wheel, a large center-mounted tachometer, a ball-topped shifter, and a mechanical parking brake. There looks to be some kind of navigation screen, but it’s hard to tell if it is fixed or pop-up.  A choice of 16″ or 17″ lightweight wheels will be available when the car hits global markets in 2015.
