Volvo officially unveiled the all-new Volvo XC90 in Stockholm, Sweden last month. Now, the official world debut of the Volvo XC90 has taken place at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. The all new Volvo XC90 promises to revolutionize the automotive industry with an all new list of standard features.

Volvo says: “Both the XC90 T6 AWD Momentum and XC90 T6 AWD Inscription will feature an extensive list of standard elements that will revolutionize the luxury SUV segment.”

The new Volvo XC90 will have seating for seven and a “best in class” cargo capacity 85.7 cubic feet. Also, according to Volvo, the third-row occupant will “class leading” legroom. The interior will feature a nine-inch (with Sensus-touch) screen as part of the HMI system. It will offer natural speech recognition too.

A massive panoramic sunroof should complete the opus of new items filling the cabin.

Volvo reasserts itself as the safety company offering fog-lights that illuminate the corners of the new XC90 (when activated), 19-inch wheels, Collision avoidance with Volvo’s lauded City Safety package, including (day or night) pedestrian and cyclist detection system.

Other safety enhancements include: road edge detection, lane departure warning, roll stability control with inflatable curtain airbags, next-generation Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS) and Volvo On Call, which includes remote lock/unlock, send to car, and vehicle tracking are part of the package.

A number of luxury add-ons are available for an upgraded experience, including:

Regarding pricing: “The T6 AWD Momentum starts at $48,900. The T6 AWD Inscription carries a MSRP of $54,500. Additional details and pricing will follow on other announced variants including the T6 R-Design and T8 twin engine plug-in hybrid.” – – Volvo Media

Powertrains range from the base model (single scroll) twin-charged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, to the 400 hp Volvo XC90 R-Design that combines the 2.0-liter turbo with an electric powerplant (T8). The Volvo XC90 R-Design should be competitive with the new Range Rover Sport and Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG.

We’re looking forward to testing Volvo’s newest offering. After all, the first Volvo XC90 shook up the industry when it came out, this all-new XC90 looks like it will do the same thing.
