2016 Cadillac ATS-V Coupe

Cadillac show just how serious it is about taking the fight to the best of German (or any other) high-performance sports cars. The 2016 Cadillac ATS-V coupe and sedan will produce 450 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque from 3.6 liters of twin-turbocharged V6 goodness. That is a healthy amount of power and more than the newly redesigned 2015 BMW M3 and M4.

The high strung engine is not the only impressive news. Cadillac says that the 2016 ATS-V will also be available with the good old 6-speed manual transmission. Enthusiasts can rejoice! The 8-speed automatic will also be available. We now get a glimpse at the possibilities of the 3.6L turbocharged engine. There is no reason why GM cannot use the engine is similar tune for other performance vehicles in its lineup.  How far can it go?  Over 500 horsepower?
