2015 Chrysler 300

Chrysler shows exercise in restraint and refinement with the face-lifted 2015 Chrysler 300. It may not be obvious, but the front and rear facias are updated. The front grille is now 33% larger for a more mean appearance. New LED taillights add an upscale flare.

There are some news under the hood. The SRT model is no longer available, and there is no hope for the Hellcat 300 at this point. Chrysler says that very few SRT models have been sold, so it’s been discontinued. Also, very few customers chose the HEMI with AWD, so now all-wheel-drive is only available on the V6 models.  The 3.6L Pentastar V6 can be configured to 300 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to the 8-speed automatic as before. The 5.7L HEMI V8 makes 363 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque. It now comes with the 8-speed auto as well. No need to bother with the older 5-speed anymore. The new transmission helps the HEMI get a 6% improvement in fuel efficiency and 0-60 MPH sprints in “under 6 seconds” according to Chrysler.

There are more refinement on in the interior. There is a huge 8.4 inch infotainment screen and other material and finish improvements. The 8-speed transmission gets a rotary shifter knob.

There is a new 300C Platinum grade that starts at $42,395. It gets quilted Napa leather, hand-sanded wood, 20 inch rims, and many other high-end touches.

The base 300 with the V6 starts at the same price as before – $31,395 before shipping and handling. It still delivers 31 MPG on the highway and benefits from the 2015 updates.
