The 2016 Lexus GS F is set to debut this morning at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS 2015).  Lexus’ newest “F” model is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.0-L V-8 pumping out 467 HP and 389 lb-ft of torque.  The engine employs both the Otto and Atkinson cycles to maximize power and efficiency.  An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.

To promote positive handling, which Lexus says was tested and honed-in on the famed Nurburgring, the 2016 Lexus GS F features the company’s Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) as standard equipment.  TVD has three driver-selectable modes, standard, slalom, and track, which adjust steering firmness and responsiveness during cornering.  TVD had previously made its debut in the 2015 Lexus RC-F sports coupe.

The new GS F shods forged wheels wrapped with staggered Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (255/35-19 front, and 275/35-19 rear). A firmed-up suspension combined with an enhanced braking system relying on 15-inch front rotors that are available with bright orange 6-piston calipers help give the GS F enhanced high-speed handling and braking capability.

Pricing, fuel economy, and other specifications have not yet been released, but Lexus says the 2016 GS F sedan should be in US showrooms later this year.
