The U.S.-bound 2016 Audi A4 TDI was caught high-altitude testing here in Colorado.  While TDI variants of the popular 3-series fighter have been available across the pond for some time, we have yet to see one in showrooms here in the ‘states.

What’s with the funky rims?  We have no idea, but suspect this 2016 Audi A4 TDI was wrapped in a set of seasonal rubber for testing in wintry conditions.  The new A4 will ride on the new version of Audi’s MLB (modular longitudinal) platform, which will in time underpin most of the brand’s midsize-to-large sedans.

Rumors have been circulating about the availability of 2.0-L and 3.0-L TSI engines for the 2016 Audi A4, as well as six-speed-manual and seven-speed dual-clutch transmissions.

Front-wheel-drive should remain standard, with Quattro all-wheel-drive and possibly a four-wheel steering system optional.  Pricing and further details have not yet been announced, but stay tuned to TFLcar.com for updates as they become available.
