The 2016 Mazda Miata-based concept will debut at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

Mazda doesn’t have any new vehicle debuting at the Chicago Auto Show that we know of, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t excited at seeing the 2016 Mazda MX-5, CX-3, and Mazda6 out on the showroom floor.

Mazda has been hitting it out of the park lately with their KODO design language and SKYACTIV Technology, bringing us vehicles that are as pleasing to look at as they are to drive.

2016 Mazda MX-5

We are always excited about seeing the 2016 MX-5. The fourth generation of the Miata has been eagerly anticipated by journalists and enthusiasts alike. The car returns to its roots with a lighter weight chassis, some 220 pounds lighter weight. The front end is sleeker, the rear end more interesting and the whole package harkens back to the purity of the first model, introduced in 1990.

Mazda will be previewing their accessories design concept for the MX-5, allowing owners to bring their own personalities to their beloved roadster. We’ll also be able to see some concepts from the Heritage Collection, three clothing collections influenced by Mazda’s history and possibly future.

2016 Mazda6

The 2016 Mazda6 will feature an updated interior with a driver focused cabin and Mazda’s Heads-up Cockpit concept. The outside will get LED headlight and a new front grille. Improved sound insulation and a Drive Selection in automatic models round out the upgrades.

2016 Mazda CX-3

We fell in love with the 2016 CX-3 at its debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. This compact crossover also features Mazda’s KODO design philosophy and SKYACTIV Technology. While we haven’t gotten behind the wheel yet, Mazda tells us the CX-3 should be easy in the city and fun on the twisties. If it’s anything like the CX-5, we’re definitely on board!

Check out our chat with Tom Matano , the original designer of the Miata, and see what he thinks of the 4th generation roadster.
