Watch the 2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country and 2015 Ford F-150 Feasting on Snow [Video]

The 2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country feels like a purpose-built mountain machine.  Its turbocharged engine routes power to all four wheels, and its raised suspension offers enough ground clearance to tackle deep snow and ruts.

Factor in the 2015 Ford F-150, also with a turbocharged engine, four-wheel-drive and a “raised” suspension, and you have a pair of equally-adept snow crushers.

Check out this TFLcar and TFLtruck first tracks preview of the 2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country and the 2015 Ford F-150 bashing together through a Colorado snowstorm.

Some folks may recognize the Switzerland Trail as one we have used in our videos before.  This time, however, it was covered in up to two feet of fresh powder.  Nary a 4×4, snowmobile, or hiker had yet traversed the path when we arrived.

Either way, both the 2015 Volvo V60 and the 2015 Ford F-150 felt solid, sure-footed, and capable.  Both engines, four/all-wheel-drive systems and raised suspensions were more than up to the task.

For those wondering, we have achieved upwards of 28 MPG on straight highway stints in our 2.7-L EcoBoost-equipped F-150, which we weighed empty at slightly under 5,000 lbs.  The 2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country, for comparison, is rated at 20/28 city/highway MPG, respectively.

Stay tuned to TFLcar for more exciting videos on both the 2015 Volvo V60 Cross Country and the 2015 Ford F-150.
