We caught an early prototype of the sixth-generation 2016 Chevy Camaro testing at high altitude in October of 2014. The all-new Camaro is about to be officially revealed on May 16th, 2015. Chevrolet is still hard at work with the ongoing testing as this #CamaroSix prototype was caught in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado this week.

There are now many more known details about the latest muscle car from GM. The car will shed around 200 pounds in comparison to the current model. The chassis will be 28% stiffer, and the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 will be available in the SS trim.

Drive Mode Selector is also coming to allow the driver to adjust throttle response, transmission shift mapping, steering, and stability control settings. It will have Snow/Ice, Tour, Sport, and Track modes. The Track mode is reserved for the SS.

Chevrolet is pulling out all the stops to make the next Camaro on of the most capable performance machines. The latest adjustable magnetic ride suspension will also be available on the SS. The dual-mode exhaust system is also coming. It can keep the noise levels down in one mode, and allow for a free-flowing sound track in the other.

It sounds like the upcoming 2016 Camaro SS is getting much of the technology and hardware from the C7 Corvette.

We cannot wait for the May 16th event. Please stay tuned as TFLcar brings you the latest from Detroit on the next Camaro.
