New York Auto Show: Launch of the Updated 2016 Jaguar XF [Video]

2016 Jaguar XF

The all-new 2016 Jaguar XF sedan debuted at this year’s 2015 New York Auto Show–new engine choices and a sleeker, more streamlined appearance are the most important changes. Jaguar will now offer the XF in base and “S” trims — base cars will be equipped with Jaguar/Land Rover’s well-known 3.0-liter supercharged V6 good for 340 horsepower, while “S” models will receive a slight tune to 380 horsepower. All XFs will be mated to an 8-speed automatic unit and will be available in either AWD or RWD configurations, with AWD-equipped XF-S models sprinting from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds.

Dynamically, the 2016 XF will be 28% stiffer than the outgoing model, while weight distribution will be an ideal 50:50. RWD XFs will save 162 pounds over the previous generation, while the AWD XF will save 262 pounds over the previous model. Expect the new XF to be tossable! Pricing will start just below $50,000 and will top out at just over $60,000 for a fully-loaded XF-S.

In addition, the European market will see a 3-liter twin-turbo V6 diesel engine. Jaguar confirmed that a diesel is in the works for the US market, though we don’t know the specs yet.
