Volkswagen announced a new platform that will allow owners to connect their cars to their Apple Watches.

Called Car-Net, it will provide access to functionality such as remotely locking and unlocking doors and checking whether the windows and sunroof are open.

Owners will never have to worry about losing their car in a parking lot again, as the Car-Net app can locate the car on a map and give walking directions to the car’s location. It can even flash the lights and honk the horn to make sure it’s the right car.

The VW Car-Net app can locate your car and give you directions to find it.

Parents can keep tabs on their children, too. The app can monitor the car’s speed and also send alerts when the car is driven outside a predefined boundary.

The app can also monitor fuel level in gas or diesel engines or battery charge level in electric vehicles.

The Car-Net platform is available on 2014 and later Beetle, CC, Eos, Jetta, Passat and Tiguan models and 2015 or later Golf models, including the GTI, R, SportWagen and e-Golf.
