TFL Car wanted to give viewers a new perspective and camera angle to its video production. Thus, a new helicopter drone was chosen to capture some amazing photographs and video footage from the sky. The team selected the Yuneec Typhoon Q500+ Quadcopter because it features a CG02+ 3-axis gimbal camera that can shoot 16 megapixel still photos and 1080p 60 frame-per-second (FPS) videos. The remote control ground station uses an Android operating system, has 10 channels, an optimum range of up to 800 meters, and a 5.5-inch Android touch screen.
The remote control system is designed really well and is definitely the company’s strength. Nice features of Yuneec’s RC quad copter ground station are a wi-fi connected monitor for real-time viewing, separate buttons to snap still photos or video, turtle and rabbit modes that limit the drone’s speed, a “home” button that brings the drone back to your location, a “follow me” feature, and GPS support.
TFL Car has tried different drones, but the Typhoon Q500+ wasn’t up to the high standards needed for professional use. To be fair, it does have some good qualities, but there are a couple things that really hurt the drone’s purpose and functionality.
