The 2017 Jaguar F-TYPE SVR is the first production Jaguar developed by the Special Vehicle Operations team and the first to wear the SVR badge. The result is an all-weather supercar capable of speeds up to 200 mph. This special series F-TYPE will debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1, along with full technical specs and pricing.

What we do know is that the SVR team took a dynamic sports coupe and made it lighter, faster, and more powerful. They even made a convertible version for drivers who love the open cockpit experience and the roar of the new titanium exhaust system unfettered by a hard top.

Unconfirmed specs from a brochure that was unofficially published online last week indicate that the SVR will feature the same 575 horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine used in the limited edition Project 7. Combine that with 516 lb-ft of torque, an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and all-wheel drive, the F-TYPE SVR will jump from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds. This means that it is 25 bhp more powerful and 0.4 seconds faster to 60 mph than the current top-of-the-line 550 bhp F-Type R. It also beats the top speed of the R’s 186 mph.

The new all-wheel drive 2017 F-TYPE SVR goes on sale summer 2016 and joins the model lineup with the F-TYPE Premium, F-TYPE S, F-TYPE British Design Edition, and F-TYPE R.
