2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat VS: BMW M3 & Motorcycle & 392 HEMI Challenger Drag Race – Hellcat VS Ep.6

Does the 2016 Dodge Challenger Hellcat have too much engine and not enough tire? In episode six of the TFLcar video series Hellcat VS., Roman Mica and Paul Gerrard set out recently to answer that question at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colorado by putting the Hellcat through a series of off-the-line drag races.

Paul first put the Hellcat to the test using its launch mode, which lets the car have control over the engine and do what it thinks is best. Paul wanted to use that initial run as a baseline to see if he could do better than the car’s computer.

Roman and Paul wanted to see if the Hellcat could get off the line and down the strip within 12 seconds. With the computer doing the work, the Hellcat topped at 116 mph at 13.4 seconds.

So it was man against machine as Paul pitted the Hellcat against a series of challengers, facing off with a 392 HEMI Challenger, a motorcycle and a BMW M3 to see how fast he could drive, and whether he could beat the computer’s speed.

How did it end? Did Paul get into the 12s and did he beat his challengers? Find out by watching the TFLcar video above.
