Mitsubishi will unveil a new upscale hybrid electric SUV at the 2016 Paris Motor Show this fall, and the company just released a teaser photo ahead of the unveiling.

The Japanese automaker announced that it will debut the all-new Ground Tourer concept car, explaining that it will embrace the company’s design ambitions through four elements – augmented possibilities, functional beauty, solid thrust and Japanese craftsmanship.

The concept further builds on Mitsubishi’s plug-in hybrid electric technology. The concept vehicle will come equipped with Mitsubishi’s driving technology package along with design concepts familiar to the brand. The SUV will have the capabilities for off road driving while providing a quiet, comfortable inside feel, Mitsubishi said in a press release.

Mitsubishi has gone all-in on crossovers and hybrids. They recently unveiled their 2017 Outlander plug-in hybrid and they have put to rest the legendary Evo rally car. Competing Japanese manufacturer Nissan just acquired a 34 percent stake in the company as well, and they are now the largest shareholder in the company. There’s no word on whether the Ground Tourer concept uses any shared Nissan platforms.
