Rumor mill: Will Matt LeBlanc quit Top Gear UK because of Chris Evans?

Top Gear
Is Matt LeBlanc about to quit Top Gear because of Chris Evans? Several news and quasi-news sources, including The Sun, have reported that there is serious uneasiness among the cast of Top Gear UK. There are rumors of jealousy, bad interactions and even poor manners among the main players of the new Top Gear UK.

Are any of these rumors true?

The first few episodes of the new Top Gear UK have been met with a mixed bag of criticism. Evans bore the brunt of the negative statements while Chris Harris and Rory Reid have garnered accolades for their work. Matt LeBlanc is gaining favor as he gets more comfortable in his role.

Matt LeBlanc Top Gear

What does this mean?

Simply put, all of us are on standby as we find out if any of these rumors are true. For those of you on this side of the pond, we suggest that you watch tonight’s episode and see if you can detect any discord. This season is already in the can and LeBlanc is supposed to be on the books for more episodes, but that’s a unsubstantiated rumor too.

As TFLcar and TFLtruck are a garage-band equivalent of the mighty Top Gear UK, I could speculate that Harris and Reid may be featured more if Evans departed. Both are veteran journalists and both are damn good on camera. It’s hard not to speculate on how far they, along with LeBlanc and Sabine Schmitz, could take Top Gear UK.

There’s very little to go on.

The TFL team is reserving judgement until we get something solid, but we’re big fans of Top Gear UK and hope this issue will be resolved soon. We know how difficult it is to juggle so many production balls with our small outfit, we are awed at what it must take to keep a juggernaut like Top Gear UK running smoothly.
