2016 Mini Cooper JCW Review: Fastest Production Mini Ever? Mini Takes The States Day 2

On day two of the 2016 Mini Takes the States rally, Roman and Tommy Mica find themselves in a hot-rod Mini.

After spending day one in a 2016 Mini Clubman S, the duo find themselves in a 2016 Mini Cooper JCW. JCW means “John Cooper Works,” and it also means the little Mini is factory hot-rodded to the tune of 228 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque.

It also has a specially tuned suspension that makes the JCW the one to take to the track. When in sport mode, the exhaust gives that racy, crackling sound that all the cool cars have.

Unfortunately, JCW also means green, as in it takes a lot of green to buy one. It starts at over $30,000 but can easily hit $40,000 with options. That’s Ford Focus RS territory, among others.

Check out the full video above for a ride-along vlog as Roman and Tommy check out the 2016 Mini Cooper JCW as they drive in Pittsboro, North Carolina.
