Most of us will never get close to a Bugatti Chiron – the successor to the Veyron and the newest hyper car from the legendary car maker. Some may see a Chiron at an auto show or on a street of a wealthy city. How about catching four Chirons at a sleepy gas station in a Colorado town? This is certainly a special occasion.

Two of these cars are blacked out prototypes, and the other two appear to be in production-ready spec. All of them have some testing equipment attached as they are getting ready to go up into the Rocky Mountains for high altitude evaluation. This is where we get to see most new cars and trucks in prototype form before they officially go on sale.

The Bugatti Chiron is all about crazy numbers. Hiding within is the 8.0L W16 quad-turbocharged engine, which is capable of 1,500 horsepower. Apparently, this engine is OK with the 91-octane fuel available in Colorado. This engine develops maximum torque from 2,000 – 6,000 rpm. The car is designed to reach a maximum speed of 261 MPH. One can pick from a variety of colors and interior materials to personalize and customize a Chiron, but one will also have to pay at least $2.6 million for it.
