We learn several important details about the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass as it makes its global debut in Brazil. Obviously, we now know what it will look like. The look of the new compact crossover borrows heavily from existing Jeep models, namely the Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and the Renegade. The interior has a familiar feel as it combines elements from the Renegade and the Cherokee.

The red model (shown above) is an off-road focused Trailhawk version and the white Compass (shown below) is a Limited. Jeep did not release many details about the new Compass, but the company did say that the new crossover entry will be available globally in as many as 100 countries with up to 17 different engine options. It will have a “host of safety and advanced technology offerings” and “open-air freedom”. The latter part may be referring to a removable top system which is similar to the Jeep My Sky dual-panel roof.

We have also learned that this compact crossover will officially be called – the Compass, at least in most markets around the world. Also, it will be branded as an 2017 model in some countries, although Jeep did not specify the on sale date, model year, engine options, and other details for the United States market.
