The Disco is back! Land Rover is introducing the Discovery name back to the United States market with the all-new Land Rover Discovery. The new seven-passenger SUV will join the Discovery Sport as the next building block of the Discovery family of vehicles.

Land Rover revealed this first official image of the production SUV, but few details are known. The front does resemble the Discovery Vision Concept vehicles from several years ago. Will it have the “transparent bonnet” and remote control features that was shown on the concept? We don’t know for sure, but Land Rover says that the next Discovery is “created with absolute versatility, capability and technology like no other.”

Here is the front of the Discovery Vision Concept for comparison.

It’s likely that the Discovery will share at least one powertrain with the Jaguar F-Pace, which is the 3.0L supercharged V6 with a rating of around 340 horsepower. This should be plenty of oomph to propel the new aluminum-based SUV. Will it also offer a turbo-diesel engine option in the United States? This is yet unknown.

The next Land Rover Discovery will make its official public debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show on Sep 28th, 2016. We will bring you all the details first.
