The Pirelli Calendar is one of the most exclusive calendars in the world. Made by Pirelli’s UK subsidiary company, this annual publication is given as a corporate gift to partners of Pirelli and some celebrities. Originally published in 1963, and published annually since then (minus a 10 year break in the ’70’s), the Pirelli calendar grew famous for its limited availability and its typically NSFW (not safe for work) style of photography. The calendar features beautiful models in the nude. However, this year, lead photographer Peter Lindbergh tried his hand at a slightly different form of nudity.

Rather than have his models strip naked for these photographs, Lindbergh felt the calendar would be more artistically interesting if the models, of whom many are getting up there in age, showed up with relatively little makeup (if any), thus revealing a more intimate form of nudity. Lindbergh points out that there is so much pressure for perfection and beauty in our society and as such, the more true form of nudity is to show the models in as little makeup as possible.

Speaking of the models, this year is packed with Hollywood superstars. Among the list, and featured in this article are: Julianne Moore, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman and Robyn Wright. Also in this year’s calendar are Jessica Chastain, Léa Seydoux, Robin Wright, Zhang Ziyi, Rooney Mara, Penelope Cruz, Charlotte Rampling, Alicia Vikander and Kate Winslet.

This year marks Lindbergh’s third Pirelli calendar, also working on the 2002 and 2014 publishings, and he may argue it is his most stunning yet. While it may not feature the attention grabbing figures of year’s past, it certainly offers an interesting commentary on our society’s perception of beauty and the female form.

While it may be somewhat useless to pick up one of these calendars used, it certainly isn’t bad to pick up a car that has been driven. In fact, we think it is a great idea. So, we made a list of the top 10 underrated and under-appreciated used cars! Watch the full video below:
