Long-term car reviews are very important as it provides a glance at the vehicle’s reliability and usability. This is my personal 2015 Subaru Outback AWD 2.5i. I purchased the car in September of 2014 and taken it on many road trips around the Rocky Mountain region. It now has approximately 39,000 miles on the odometer. How did the car hold over this period? What are the good and the bad things about it? Here are my Top 6 dislikes and Top 5 likes about the car.

This was one of the very first fifth-generation Outbacks sold in Colorado with the EyeSight adaptive cruise control system. The dealer ordered it, and we waited the first batch to be delivered. Buying one of the first examples of an all-new car has its risks, namely potential reliability/quality problems.

I tested the all-new 2015 Subaru Legacy 3.6R just a couple of weeks before purchasing the Outback, and I came away impressed with the car and the updated adaptive cruise control (i.e. EyeSight) system. This helped me make the decision on the Outback.

Nearly every manufacturer and nearly ever model has its share of recalls, and the 2015 Outback is no exception. Three recalls were already performed at the dealer, and I am contacting them about the fourth, which has to do with a weak windshield that can crack easily. I recently caught a rock in the lower part of the windshield and a long crack appeared within two days.

The Outback never got us stranded or stuck over the last two years, and there are several really good attributes about the car that I love. Given the choice to buy a Subaru Outback, I would gladly do it. The positives far outweigh the negatives.
