Get the Entire 2017 Jeep Compass Press Briefing: This Compact Crossover is All New [Video]

2017 Jeep Compass limited

Not to be confused with the outgoing Jeep Compass, the incoming 2017 Jeep Compass is an all-new vehicle slotted between the Jeep Renegade and the Jeep Cherokee. It will be offered in several trim levels including the 2017 Jeep Compass Trailhawk. TFLcar was invited to San Antonio, TX to test the Jeep.

You can see its introduction at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show (here).

The 2017 Jeep Compass has the potential to be more than a mall crawler, with a 20:1 crawl ratio along with five unique settings (auto, snow, sand, mud and rock) beefy tires and a good ride height, it should be one of the more off-road-worthy crossovers in its class. Although it looks more like a smaller Jeep Grand Cherokee rather than a smaller Jeep Cherokee, it shares quite a few components with the entry-level Jeep Renegade.

In this video, which was a live-stream video published on TFLnow, we get into the meat of what makes the Compass special. This press briefing is chalk-full of tech info and it also addresses various embargoes, including the embargo on driving impressions.

Jeep says  it will be in dealerships in the spring of 2017.

We can’t wait to get one of these to perform off-road at the 2017 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, UT. Stay tuned for that video and many others!
