The automotive world, much like many other sectors, has a tendency to develop trends. Some of them we are not so fond of as automotive journalists, but there are also plenty that we are very much in favor of. On this episode of TFLtoday, Roman and Nathan discuss the top 10 automotive trends that they love.
The first trend on this list is the recent spike in cars that offer heated steering wheels and heated/cooled seats. Roman is quick to point out that luxury vehicles have had these features for some time, but fortunately for those of us who live in colder climates, this technology is now becoming much more abundant in less expensive vehicles. It can be quite satisfying to wrap your hands around a steering wheel to find that it is nice and toasty.
Another cool automotive trend that is becoming much more popular is the use of cameras, dispersed around the outside of the vehicle, that help paint a perfect bird’s-eye view of the vehicle and its surroundings. This technology has been implemented on a number of vehicles, such as the Volvo XC90 and it is something that we hope to see more of in the future. It can be hugely helpful when off-roading, or when simply trying to park.
